The AB 1771-IC is a digital input module in the 1771 Series of
Digital I/O Modules used in the assembly of PLC-5 Systems. It
features input filtering that limits and suppresses the effects of
voltage transients caused by electrical noise and/or contact
bounce. This decreases the occurrence of electrically-related
downtime, and doubles or triples product life. Plus, this DC module
is shipped in a static-shield bag for protection against
electrostatic discharge.
The 1771-IC Digital DC Input is a sink-type (source load) module
with a 10-60V DC voltage category and total of 8 inputs. It
receives power via the 1771 I/O backplane from the power supply and
it has a 42-56V DC operating voltage range. It requires a 74mA
backplane current load from the supply’s output. Its maximum
off-state current is 3.7 mA. Due to input filtering, it has a
typical signal delay of 17 (±7) ms when turned on and of 20 (±7) ms
when turned off.
The 1771-IC Module works with 2 and 3–wire devices including DC
proximity switches, limit switches, float switches, pushbuttons,
photoelectric sensors, and selector switches. For 3-wire
applications, the off-state leakage should not exceed 4mA. It uses
wiring arm with catalog number 1771-WA.
